An original crochet amigurumi Plesiosaurus pattern from the dinosaur range by June Gilbank.
Plesiosaurus was a member of the Plesiosaur family. (Plesiosaurs aren't actually true dinosaurs, but aquatic reptiles that lived in the same time period.) Plesiosaurus was about 8 ft long, and had an extremely long neck, a small head, wide body, and four long, paddle-like flippers. It lived in the sea and fed on fish and cephalopods. It lived through the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods.
Fun fact: some people believe that Nessie, the mythical Loch Ness monster, could be a surviving plesiosaur!
