Two original crochet amigurumi patterns: Octopus and Squid, from the Baby Cephalopods range by June Gilbank. These mini amigurumi take only 25-30m of yarn apiece, and work up quickly with minimal finishing, as they only have 2-3 pieces each!
Baby Octopus has long curling arms and a realistic body shape.
Baby Squid has two long tentacles and swimming fins at the back.
- Octopuses are completely soft, with no bones or shell, so they can squeeze themselves through tiny gaps barely larger than their eye.
- There are about 300 species of squid, ranging in size from a only few centimetres to over 10m long.
Yarn: worsted weight yarn (the pictured samples use Lion Brand Vanna's Choice yarn)
Hook: US E / 3.5mm
Size: octopus approx 5" long; squid approx 6.5" long
Eyes: 10-12mm (the pictured samples use 12mm eyes)
