roses galore
This is my new basic rose that I designed especially for my classes this weekend. I’ll be teaching how to make these at the show (Saturday 3.30pm, Sunday 2.30pm) if you’d like to learn how to make them too. Here’s a vase of worsted weight roses for my table display:
And a rose hairclip I thread crocheted to wear at the show:
The clip is made with the same basic rose pattern, just much, much smaller – that’s a 1.5mm hook!
If you can’t make it to my classes this weekend, I’ll be publishing the pattern here soon too. Sign up for my mailing list if you’d like to know when it’s available.
I won’t be home until Sunday night, so expect my show report early next week. Wish me luck for this weekend!

Thanks for posting your rose pattern. I was searching under “free quick fun”
on Ravelry and discovered it. It is so simple and elegant. I am using bamboo skewers for the stem; I just half hitch the green yarn all the way down. I also made up a little leaf for each rose. I’m using Noro yarn (my favorite) which is variagated reds and purples-stunning! I look forward to checking out your blog.

Gosh, I’d love to take one of your classes! I’m finishing up your Jack Russell pattern in black with some fur hooked in to make him a Scottie… the shaping is so cool and the instructions are virtually dummy-proof. I’m learning so much following your process, and that’s the sign of not only a great designer but an excellent teacher as well.

Hi, June! Your vase of roses is TOO pretty! Gives me a GREAT idea for some quick gifts! I just need to find some SMALL pretty vases (an almost IMPOSSIBLE task in THIS country! Everything here is BIG and GAUDY! LOL). Maybe I could do what my 1st roommate here did! She took a Perrier bottle and covered it with pieces of tissue paper, like a mosaic, to make a vase! They have small bottles of that here! Ok. Problem solved! See how you inspire me! LOL!! I LOVE the barrett! What size thread did you use? Ten?
Good luck with the show! Talk to you soon!

This is beautiful!!!! I wish I can attend your class during the show, but I am just too far (Malaysia) to reach there. I signed up for the news letter, thanks for giving us the free pattern of the rose. Can’t wait to try out this pretty pattern, I would like to make a brooch for my daugther.
