Day 6 - The Wedding

The weather was by far the worst so far - poor visibility, quite windy, very cloudy, and forecast for drizzle. At breakfast we asked Mr Squires if he could take some photos of us before we left, then we spent the morning in our room, getting ready. Our buttonhole and corsage had been delivered to our room while we were at breakfast. Mr Squires took a few pictures at 11.15 and the taxi arrived at 11.20.

We arrived at the registry office very early, and waited inside for Tarnia and Stuart to arrive. The registrar said the rain was good as it's a sign of good luck on your wedding day... It was okay though, because we didn't get rained on at all. They must have been running early as we were finished by 12.10! Stuart took us into the churchyard for some more pictures, and we met the Lt Governor's wife, who knows Stuart and she congratulated us.

We took a taxi back to the Panorama to get changed and found a complimentary bottle of champagne and glasses in our room! We opened the champagne and then went to St Aubins cafe for bacon and guacamole wraps. The weather was grey and windy so we went back to the hotel for a while, then we decided to go to Red Houses so we could go to my favourite shop for many years, Le Riches. When we got there, we had a big shock - Le Riches had closed down!!

We couldn't think of much else to do, so we went back to our hotel until dinner. We had made reservations for the Blue Fish 2, a trendy restaurant in St Aubin. We shared a bruscetta with roasted vegetables and brie for our starter, then Dave had liver and I had duck. It was very nice and quite poshly presented. They also had live jazz (guitar and saxophone) in the restaurant.
