We drove to Newcastle Airport after a 5am start, and got the plane to Jersey. We took a taxi to the Panorama hotel and were greeted by the friendly proprietor, who asked us to wait in the lounge for a few minutes while they finished preparing our room. The room was fantastic! A gorgeous sea view balcony, a nice bathroom with bathrobes, and a microwave and fridge in the bedroom.

When we'd settled in a bit, we ventured out in search of food. The hotel is halfway up the hill overlooking St Aubin, but the garden runs straight down the hill, so there is a path straight onto the beachfront. We walked to the St Aubin Cafe by the beach and had tortilla wraps, then we took Le Petit Train into St Helier. The weather was cloudy so it was a bit cold on the train! We bought bus passes and magazines in town and then caught the bus back to St Aubin so we could have a rest for the afternoon.

When we were rested, we walked around St Aubin and then went to The Tenby Bars pub for dinner then we went back to the hotel to watch The Empire Strikes Back on TV.
