Many wildlife conservation organisations now offer sponsorship, so anyone can make a difference and help to save orang utans. I have adopted Melapi (right) from the WWF and Okuda from Care for the Wild.
The WWF adoption scheme enables them to continue to monitor and protect primates in the wild, by carrying out research and raising local awareness. The Care for the Wild adoption scheme helps support rehabilitation of wild orangs in Borneo and assists with the fight against illegal logging. |

In Praise of Primates is a stunning book of the photography of Steve Bloom. The majority of the photos were taken in the wild, and give a real insight into the natural behaviour and lifestyles of many primates, with large sections devoted to orang utans, gorillas, chimpanzees, snow monkeys and others. The photos are very emotive, and capture the intelligence and personality of the primates. Highly recommended! | |
